No more kidding myself

Hi Folks. Just looked at my days away from cigarettes page and its 555. There used to be a cigarette called State Express 555 I believe. ( just saying ).
I was remembering the times I told those little white lies.
To my wife " I have really cut down.
To the doctor. " I rarely smoke "
On the form. Tick / no
To my boss " just popping out to the shop "
To myself " I will quit next week "
One of the great bonuses of quitting is not having / choosing to lie anymore.

Classic! What a super summing up of a dedicated smoker. Just as well we can now have a laugh. To others, however, this is a reality! Thanks Dobbin.

Thanks for sharing this Dobbin, and yes used to be true on a couple of counts..,but it reminded me of a friend of mine going to a new Drs practice, she being a new patient was given form to fill out,
1 question was....do you smoke?.... She circled No,,, but i said to her.."yes you do"...
she said " they don't have to know everything about me", as she smelled of smoke.....
She is 90 now and still enjoys her smokes.

Hey Jenno, good write up. However, we are not all with same bodies....some may be 4cyl and others v8. Bless the lady for still smoking at 90....need not give up. However, we cannot be envious of someone like that woman...we must look at our individual situation. As i said previously once i found "the party was over" for me i then quit. Young people today think they are bullet proof but smoking will catch up with you in one way or the other. These are just my thoughts. Cheers.

Hi Johnnie, Yes we were young once and Bullet Proof, and Coooool to be smoking, well i thought i was.....and even way back then, we weren't told of the dangers like it is told now, and I suppose if we were told we would of used the adage.....it won't happen to us.
