Today is day 12 for me....I feel good but also very depressed....Am trying my ut most best to think possitve good thoughts, saying stuf like I am responsible for my own state of minde and happines, constantly repeating in my head I dont smoke..... and I must say I am thinking less and less of smoking but now I am just feeling depressed all the time. I stop taking champix, thought that maybe it is the tablets making me feel depressed. But still I feel depressed....

Hi Marinda, first of all you have done so well so far, good on you! Don't forget to give yourself a high five..

I can only imagine your brain is screaming for nicotine right now and I remember just crying. Crying and hating everyone and hating life. Try to, and I know it's hard, step back a bit and look at this from a different view.

The addiction is trying to get you to break, trying to get you to give it what it wants. Get stubborn, see it as a challenge, don't give in to the evil sucker and looking at it like this can take some of the depressive feelings away.

It's easy to get lured into feeling terrible but the best way to turn it around is to get annoyed with it- you control you now, not nicotine.

You've done 12 days, you are in the captains seat now!

Hey Miranda,

Firstly I'm super proud to read that you're

still smoke free!! We are on roughly the

same days. Some find Champix brilliant

with no or very little side effects but my

friend was on it and she had a terrible time.

It took 2 weeks for her to be off it and she

started feeling heaps better. I hate the

thought of smoking but still miss it at

times because it was a big part of our

lives but one that could very well kill us.

I'm on patch for now but only wear it for

12 hours. It's really about what works and

doesn't work for each individual.

I sincerely hope you feel better soon, be

kind and gentle on yourself.

You're a winner x
