79 days and it's still hard (help!)

Hey all

First post but hope to be around to support as much as I can.

Quit with champix - 79 days smoke free.

Each week that has passed I have had atleast one day with severe craving. Lasting hours (tonight I even purchased a pack - thankfully the fear of lighting up means they are unopened).

For me I coped in the first few weeks knowing that champix would make it taste horrific (as it did in the early days) so I was able to fight the desire for one as I told myself it was pointless.

Then from about day 50 onwards I've been able to fight it purely through being proud, not wanting to undo all the hard work and through lots of deep breathes!

But, seriously I'm feeling no benefit, I miss it (clearly I will), I'm getting a tight chest when I talk (anxiety I think - which is a huge blow to me and just changes who I was before, the confident one), I've dreamt of smoking four times (so it's on my mind massively).

I believe I'm just hanging on by the thinnest string at the moment :(. I have heard of no-one this far in who has experienced the same? Any help support hugs etc very welcome

Hey Red-67

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply it means a lot. Sat here almost crying about it, what's become of me haha. But relieved to know I'm not alone.

Been off champix for around three weeks now, ditched the morning tablet quite early on because of side effects.

And yes you're right serious habit fighting now :( what an evil addiction hey! Will keep going.
