Day 83 !!

Hey Everyone ....Just wanted to pop in and say ..Hi and I have successfully made it to day 83 .......I feel so much more healthy and energetic.......I also survived my first trigger event .......Me and DW ( Da Wife) went to an overnight Valentines dinner /Dance / Breakfast part this past weekend ......Its the first time i have had any alcohol since I gave up the cancer sticks ........The people we went with were mostly my wife's co -workers and none of them smoke ...so that was helpful ..... To be honest I was a bit worried .....especially after my 5th beer in the pub .......... I was looking around and i only notice 1 person with a pack of smokes on thier table ....i made a mental not of his face ......As the day went by and roll ed into the even after our dinner and mid way through the dance ....now i have had another 5 beer ......and DW ask me to go back to the room and get her some Advil.....So iff I go and who do i run into out side of the main doors .....the guy from the pup who had the pack of smokes on his table ..... It was a cold evening probably -16 ...So you could see your breath ....I could smell the smoke as soon as i opened the door to go outside ....and to my surprise it actually disgusted me a little .....there was this guy all by himself ...it was freezing out .....the cold air mad the smoke even more visible and with the white snow background .....it look like he was in the middle of a fire .....It was actaully sad ....As i walk passed him I actually though about bumming a smoke but instead I said ... "Hello ....I see your out here with all your friends " ......On my way back to my room I had a smile on my face and I knew I had won another battle and the monster inside me grew a little bit weaker !!! What else was nice is when i arrived back at the dance ...I just walked in , hung up my jacket ...and went to my table ....Gave DW a kiss and i know my breath smelled nice ....just by the way she kissed me ......I did not have to go into the washroom and do a full body sterilization to try to mask the rotten smell of smoke off ............ Well good luck to everyone ........Keep your heads up and sticks on the ice .............but most important ......Never take another puff!!! Peace and Love ....Peace and Love !!

Great story! And well done. I agree this- i am out with friends situations were helpful to realise that we can beat the temptation...
