Its definitely challenging

Hi All, hope you are all faring well on your quit journey. Its day 145 and I have found that if I am struggling with everyday life then the cravings come running. Smoking has always been my 'go to' when I am not coping so changing that 'coping mechanism' is extremely challenging.
How nasty and unfair I find this, I mean we try our hardest to get past this addiction only to have it dance enticingly in our faces when we are struggling. I find that really cruel and it makes me hate it all the more.
On a happier note I am still smoke free!

So true what you say Cranky. I am actually the opposite. I get the urges when i am in "happy mood". These days however i turn to my happines without the smoke but rather a piece of chocolate or apple pie to enjoy the moment with a non alcoholic drink or a coffee. The cravings keep knocking on your door but we all must learn not to let them in. Have a nice xmas and good luck. Cheers.

Hi Cranky, congrats on 145 smoke free.
I can't tell you how much your posts help me, they ring so true to me and so similar to what I'm experiencing so thank you.
have a happy and smoke free Christmas and please keep posting.

Well done on your 145 days Crankey and stay strong. The cravings will eventually become mild and infrequent but this will be the hard bit for now. I know you won't give in and remember us who not long ago travelled a similar path. Not sure it helps but most days I rarely even think about the subject of smoking. A lot of us are following your journey and willing you on. Have a great Christmas.

Hi cranky- well written and so true- the cravings are dancing around our noses in the weakest moments.. sneaky buggers.. but you know what- the amazing thing is that up to now you have not given in- so you are strong! By the way happy Christmas
