100 days and still going strong

Hi all,

100 days and checking in...

Well I did it - I reached one of my personal milestones :o) I never thought Id be able to say that its been 100 days since my last cigarette!!!

Its been a tough journey full of ups and downs but it is at this time I would like to thank each and every one of you fellow quitters - I couldn't have got this far without your kind and gentle words of encouragement. I read all your stories and draw strength from them and I hope I pass on some of this strength to those that may need it from time to time. I quit for health reasons. Smoking did not cause my health issues but it certainly didn't help either. So by quitting I can now say that my health concerns are less and should not bother me in the future - my doctor is very pleased and so is my partner....

So, I guess I feel like I've just climbed the hugest mountain from day 1 to day 100 and honestly, I'm exhausted from this constant internal battle - but I will never go back to smoking. But now standing atop this mountain I can look back and see where I've came from and I can look ahead and see where I'm going. It is quite a calming feeling

I've put on a fair bit of weight so far which means my clothing has increased a size - this is something I'm NOT enjoying but I can always lose the weight. In fact my partner and I have just got engaged and have set the wedding date for December 2017 - so this gives me 12 months to deal with the weight issue which is very achievable. In the meantime, I've just been kind to myself and not let it upset me.

My motto on my quit journey is "Whatever it takes" - so I will do whatever it takes to quit smoking and not beat myself up about the things that happen along the way (such as weight gain)

I've saved close to $2,000 by not smoking so next month I'm treating myself to a full day at the day spa and a weekend away to go with it :o) I cant wait !!!

This has been a rollercoaster of a ride but it has been completely worth it - so here's to the next 100 days!!!

Good luck all
