No pressure on myself

Hi everyone,
I started smoking at the age of 26 ! Who does that. Anyways I went from curiosity led, fashion statement smoking randomly borrowed cigs to a pack a day - sometimes a pack and half if I was out with friends in the evenings. But average a pack a day. I am a curious smoker in the sense that I never learnt how to inhale properly. I blow out a lot of smoke though and it feels good and tastes good. My lung tests clean and I think my ticker at last check was good. I am now 50. But I have other health problems now that I am 50 - which I may have had even if I was not a smoker!!! - like hypothyroid, borderline cholesterol, torn meniscus on both knees, varicose veins etc. To top it all I am in the throres of menopause! I want to give up. I think. Until now I was never ready and never even tried. But on the 8th of October I went and bought champix and started taking it everyday while still smoking as usual. The pharmacist prescribed -1 pill a day for first 3 days and then 2 per day for 12 weeks. I am now almost at the end of 4 weeks. The first few days I had some very colourful clear dreams, but not scary ones just really unrealistic and impossible. Funnily I never remember my dreams usually, but these two nights I had them I remembered. I felt a bit nauseous at times- but nothing that did not go away if I ate something and just sat down for a bit thinking or doing other things. 31st of Oct- down from 20 a day to about 10, 1st Nov about 8, 2nd Nov about 4 and 3rd Nov today- none so far its 3 p.m where I live. Is this the start of it? I wonder???? It helps that I don't have cigs at home anymore cos I ran out of my stock. Can I stay away from buying the next time I step out. Can I, will I, please let me!!!!
By the way: I walk for 3.5 kms everyday just normal pace walking either in the morning or evening, I am vegetarian, don't drink really maybe a glass of wine every now and then, and since I started champix I have been only having fuit or veg juice in the night. Trying to keep the weight down if I am going to quit I don't want to get fat now! LOL I will post if I survive day 1 without a cig and keep in touch. Much strength to all in their effort to give up!

My quit day is 6november . Second attempt ! Gave up for a year once before and foolishly went back . Hoping I succeed this time .... Feeling positive!
