It really does get better

445 days quit and feel totally free from nicotine. I am fully aware that one cigarette will put me back to where I started particularly after reading the post about going back to smoking after ten years.

I remember the early weeks of giving up where the obsession was almost unbearable. Couldn't think of anything else for weeks and weeks.

I rarely think even objectively about cigarettes now and have no cravings at all.

It is really worth the effort and pain. Newbies stick with it through thick and thin. Stay close here and keep posting. Miracles do happen.

40 years I smoked for can't believe I've come this far .i think the turning point for me was when I realised I was a nicotine addict

Hi Dobbin, thanks for the cheer up, it was actually really needed today.. 2 weeks without smoking, and I just had this thought, that it would be a real relieve not thinking about smoking all the time, not having this horrible cravings... No worries, I will not start again, but the cravings are tireing...

Thanks for sharing..

Good on you. I do still think of it but I also know that the thought is succeeded by only five minutes of craving and it goes.

It's hard what we've done so we deserve a pat on the back. Well done you.?
