Champix- the killer!!! When will Australia stand up

I took champix 11 weeks ago and quit smoking after a week. I was on them for 6 weeks but stopped due to the crazy dreams and night sweats. What transpired 6 days after quitting has been a nightmare and driven me to the edge. I did not sleep for 4 straight days and now have tried to sleep with zolpidem which made me too drowsy. In all for the last 5.5 weeks I have had 20 hours of drug induced sleep due to the anxiety. I spoke to one of the mental health clinic assessment team and as soon as. I mentioned chamois she let out a moan .. Ohhhhh no that has done this to you for sure. This drug is a killer, I've been off work for 3 weeks now, have been to EDepartment twice due to exhaustion, have tried seroquol, metazapan, valdoxan, nothing seems to work. Going today to get mirtazipine as the psychiatric people say it is better than seroqual for my anxiety, insomnia.
There are far too many horror stories with this drug. this has pretty much destroyed me. I cannot think straight.
Giving up smoking is hard , but you have to endure a bit of pain to get to the gain

Hey Crazydays, that's a horrible experience and you obviously cannot take Champix as it reaction is severe. I have heard many terrible stories about it but many more stories from people who have had positive experiences and I'm one of them. I don't think banning the drug is helpful, I don't know the answer but taking it away would be detrimental to a lot of people. A good friend of mine had an allergic reaction to the nicotine gum and her throat started closing over from swelling. She knows she can't have it but it doesn't mean it does this to everyone.
i hope you get some sleep soon and that you're successful on your quit journey.
