Champix making me feel strange

I'm 3 weeks into my quit, I've had a long year full of ups and downs and like most smoking has been a huge psychological coping mechanism. After a few attempts (yet again) at cold turkey throughout the year I finally went back to my doctor and asked to go on Champix - again. I had my most successful quit back in 2014, and here I am again 5 weeks into the prescription and 3 weeks into the quit. Physically I feel better, I have some pretty horrid side effects. Constant dry mouth, nausea (despite always taking with a meal) and insomnia. Recently in the last week I feel different, I've lost the motivation I had prior. I'm tired, sad and lazy. I snap and get angry easier.
I don't want to stop my script because I'm afraid it'll ruin everything but I also hate feeling like this.

Hi NurseD I also felt funny when used champix the side effects you are experiencing are withdrawels drink huge amounts of water and keep positive your mind is so asking you to give in but don't listen to it this site helped me and I installed an app on my phone called y quit buddy and I have been doing well don't give in you can do it xx

Hi NurseD. I too was taking Champix and had to stop them as I had a severe allergic reaction to them at start of week 5 I think it was. I aldo had alot of the similar things you describe stay strong we can all do this if we get help and support. I am only 19 days smoke free but its not easy i still get thoughts all the time but now i can fight it better. If you are worried by your feelings then go see your dr. Good luck xx

Thanks guys! What kind of allergic reaction? Why did it take 5 weeks to manifest? I'm feeling a bit better, called in sick to work tonight as I'm finding I'm not 100% of my usual self at work. I have a short fuse, I'm angrier. It's ironic isn't it, despite being past the "worst part" the initially withdrawal phase it's maintaining the mentality. I have a shocking shift at work last night and haven't had a craving as strong as this morning in weeks. Thanks for the support! Good luck too both of you! I'll keep you posted on my progress
