50 Days and now loving it

I celebrated 50 days yesterday, and that's the operative word CELEBRATE. Smoking has been one giant handbrake on my life. The weather on the weekend was sensational and I was outdoors and about with my husband and our 8 year old daughter. I did an early morning cycle 12km, with my daughter on Sat, which we both loved and Sun same but celebrated with a nice breakfast. My daughter loved being with me and laughing and talking. All I could think was this is LIFE. Life is certainly not on the end of a dart. It has given me a new perspective on cravings and that feeling of "hangin for a dart" I seriously hope I beat this. Life is short and there is too much to be enjoyed in DART FREE WORLD. My new word is focus and remain strong. Very proud. Keep strong everyone we can do this with each others support. xx

Hi Nannette,

I'm very proud of you too :o) and you are so right - LIFE is for LIVING

I find that I am so sad for me that I denied myself this for 25 years - but now (at day 50) I completely understand what you are saying and I fully agree with you

Lovin' Life xxx Woo hoo !!!!!!

Hi Nannette. You already know why you returned to this site. It is not a competition here to see who has lasted the longest. You know that when someone blows their own horn, it is because they are surprised but are doing it to inspire others who will take the journey with them. Wishing you well.

'Way to go Paula' (Nanette). One of my favoutite, all-time lines (from 'An Officer and a Gentleman'). It's just about someone who hangs in there, despite the odds. Mostly, for the last six months, I've been relaxed. But I have been blind-sided for a couple of days and one night it felt just as challenging as the first three weeks. It passed though but as I have noted before, it remains a temptation. You have to acknowledge your sheer doggedness and decide that one more night isn't going to break the bank. You can smoke tomorrow but just not tonight. Tomorrow, you won't feel like it. Good luck, you star!
