Wow! it does get Easier!

Going on 70 Days! The first 40 were rough, but every day after that get just a little bit easier. Dont give up giving up those smokes! Best thing i have done for myself in a long time! Feeling healthier with each passing day! I had really liked smoking and was not really planning on quitting this time around. I have used NRT patches in the passed, but quitting Cold Turkey has been the best yet! Its just getting passed that first 4/5 days of pain... then you are well on your way! Good Luck to you All!

Hi CF, very inspirational write up. I am on 72 days now after 50 yrs smoking and agree with you that the cravings do diminish sigificantly. However, keep your guard up as these imps have ways of biting us when we are not looking. Overall i think you and i are doing well. Good luck and stay tuned. Cheers.

WendyOhNo Day 35 is a great accomplishment! Keep going! Soon will not think about them as often as you might now, and it will continue to get less and less. I look forward to when you hit day 70!

Johnnie, for you to Quit after 50 years is Awesome! You are right the cravings could sneak up on us at a weak moment, I hope we can all stay strong through those times. I read your comments and posts often to keep me going. Thanks for that!

Well done guys. When I stopped smoking and was reading posts from people on here who were 35 and 70 days smoke free I was in awe. I couldn't even imagine getting through the first day or two but I got some great support on here and was talked through each day. I was told to take it an hour at a time to begin with then move on to a few hours then a whole day and before I knew it I was 35 days in. I'm not saying any of it was easy, certainly the first few weeks were a battle but I was proud of myself and so grateful for the emotional support on here. I got great support from most of my friends and was talked into running, which is my latest addiction :). I volunteer at a local talking newspaper and my coughing between articles has disappeared, such a relief.
What I'm trying to say is you're brilliant. You are supporting others and encouraging them to stay stopped, what better gift can you give anyone? A better, cleaner, free life. Hugs.
