Still in subconscious

Hi. Made a coffee yesterday and went to sit in the garden. Found myself fumbling in my pockets looking for cigarette packet and lighter subconsciously. All this over a year after quitting.
Gave me a jolt but made me realise how the habit got hold of me as I always had a cigarette with my coffee in the garden.

Hi Dobbin. Hope you do not succumb to your cravings. How about smelling the "Roses". Or whatever you have in your garden now that you may have some sense of smell/taste. How much are we enjoying these simple pleasures since quitting? Just know your support crew will encourage you to go the l o n g distance.

Hi Lia. Thanks. No real cravings as such but learned behavior I think. Just took me by surprise.
Like you having travelled the minefield of escaping the Demon I have very little appetite for going back
Having an Indian summer here in the UK and have been busy enjoying our garden.

Hey Dobbin, only normal what you experiencing. The body and brain still used to each other with coffee and of course a smoke. I find after 10wks that this is my biggest problem too...the morning coffee...but i just tune in to daily news read something to get mind of it. As the time passes so does the habit. Like you sometimes I do things unknowingly anticipating a smoke but when i remember where i am at i just say "no" came too far to turn back. Mate, like me, just keep remembering the health benefits that we gain from quitting............Cheers.

Hey Dob, good to hear from you. Funny how deep the hold was, even after all that time there are still weird moments of memory. At least the memory faded quickly and you were able to enjoy the garden with your coffee. Take good care.
