Push Through

I have been smoke free for 2 days, My actual quit date is today... Yesterday I was strong and did not touch a single cig... today all I can think of is wanting to smoke.... I am trying hard to push through, and I focus on my work... and snacking... #conquer#

Hey good on you. My first day today and I'm feeling really good about it. Just imagine, how much life is going to get better from here! Good luck

Day 3 smoke free, the urges are so strong to smoke...... feeling annoyed and despondent... how do you guys do it....

Hi Cla205, ignore the cravings, keep busy and use nrt lozenges split into halves. If you can see out the first 2 weeks then i assure you it will get easier. Be strong and give it your best shot....it IS worthed. Cheers.

Cla205 everyday after today gets easier.... I am now on day 10 and I remember my first 4 days was the worse... day three is worse than the 1st and 2nd.... Stay strong and share....

Thanks Guys, this really helps to have a support group.... so far so good today....

Hang in there and please believe us when we say it does get easier, "yeah right" I can hear you saying and guess what? Yep that is what I said when I was in you spot, my first 4-5 days I cried, paced, chewed and cried some more. I will be 60 days tomorrow and wow amazing still struggle some days and find it hard to believe I am here. Just take it one craving/one day at a time. Good luck , post and rant often we are all here for you and each other

Good luck Cla205. We all know what you are going through. Take really deep breaths when the real cravings come on. Keep busy and don't dwell on the cravings. It will be great to see you posting here on your journey.

Hi Cla and welcome to the support group of crazies, ha ha ha. We are here to help you through as others have helped us through during our early days of quitting. You're doing amazingly well already, have you stopped and taken a look at how far you've come already? The first few days are the toughest, it's true - take each hour at a time. You will then be able to take each at a time and you won't notice you haven't thought about smoking.
1. Stay busy - keep a list of jobs you need to do or make up a list and tick off each job. Anything from tidying out your wardrobe to painting the fence and anything in between. 2. Have some sugar-free gum to hand in moments of cravings. I keep some in my car and in my bag just to be on the safe side. 3. Treat the cravings with the contempt they deserve - visualise them as a person you don't like and push them away in your mind. 4. Think of the all the good things that will come out of stopping - your hair will be shinier, your skin clearer and you will smell amazing. Not to mention your lungs and your life expectancy. 5. When a craving hits, come on this site if you can and read through other peoples posts, it's amazing how much they help and it will act as a distraction.
Stay strong, keep your chin up and you will succeed because you want to, flower. Hugs.

Excellent. It's my third day today. Just imagine how much healthier you're starting to become. No more cigarette breath.

Good Morning All, What a weekend it was rough, stressful and very irritating, I must be honest I slipped up.. I had one, but felt guilty and sick, I believe that I will get through this, I just need to fight harder, and I am setting myself for this week including the weekend to not touch it all, no matter how bad it gets... sorry for my blah blah, but your support means a great deal.... I am a non smoker..........
