Its a myth about craves lasting 5 minutes. They last hours.

First week was combating direct impulse craves but second week has been impossible.

In my personal experience a craving will last as long as you allow it to. Focus on your breathing, push the thought out of your head and distract yourself. Sitting around contemplating the craving, then imagining going through with smoking again is torturous, I've done it and it makes it last longer than it should.

every time you get a craving just tell yourself .... that's just a memory of something that I used to do but don't want to do any more...
