Sitting in traffic

Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 20 Aug 2016

I was sitting in my car today, it was drizzling (as is the English rain) and I found my eye drawn to a chap on a smoke break from work. He was huddled under a tree, still getting wet, looking thoroughly miserable but wasn't going to go back in until the cigarette was finished and I found myself thinking "How odd. What a very strange thing to do. He's determined to smoke and he's getting very wet, probably cold too and he looks totally miserable. I wonder why he doesn't stop". I didn't judge him, I didn't feel sorry for him either. I just thought, how odd!

Funny the things you see.

lol - That's called power of addiction which overwhelm you that much that you tend to choose it over everything. it hooks you up with all your joys and worries and make an emotional bonding with you.

its hard to runaway but not impossible though.

I have had the same thing happen to me also and I sat in my nice warm car and thought oh my that used to be me it was windy and cold but this lady was standing outside her car puff after puff dragging it in so she could get her fix . It was early on in my quit and I was like I never want to be that lady ever again

Yes, we all were there many times in the past. May we encourage anyone who is brave enough to kick the habit ...
