26 days today and going great guns. Not much cravens either and do not last long in any case. When i see someone smoking i do not envy or condemn the individual , my thoughts are that one day he or she will realise what cigarettes do after years of smoking .....whether 5 or 30 a day....the same as i have now realised. I thought it was fun at the time i was 16...but believe me ...not fun after 50 yrs. So, i need to keep going and definitely will be trying hard like everyone else on this forum.

Hi Johnnie. Well done. You sound well on your way and your attitudes re smokers are the same as mine. I waited over 50 years to quit and in the end ran out of excuses and rationalisation. When I had my first cigarette all those years ago I was physically sick. You sound determined and we wish you the best of luck. ( although it is in your control as you know ). Dobbin

Hi Johnnie. You hit the nail on the head. On this site no one on the quitting trail puts anyone else down. They truly want smokers everywhere to find the courage to quit. As Dobbin says, it made us feel sick in our quest to become smokers. It is only understandable that reversing the process is equally difficult. In fact, let's admit it, it is so much harder to quit. Anyone who revisits this site is either looking for encouragement or trying to spread some clever thoughts about how to deal with the cravings. Those who are finding success want to take others on the same quit ride. Inevitably, there is something that will ring true to someone on this site. That is where the power of this site begins and continues to grow. I just wish there was a bigger percentage of returning subscribers. Seems to be less than 6%...

Well done Johnnie, yes I agree with Dobbin and Lia, we have no right to pass comment about smokers - they will find their own way to stopping.

Less than 6%? That's sad. When I first stopped, I was using this site as an alternative to smoking. I would just pop on for 5 minutes while I was having a coffee instead of lighting up and it worked for me. I will never stop coming onto here as all the support I received I want to pay forward. Everyone on here is non-judgemental and have the utmost respect for all of you. Keep fighting the good fight. Hugs

Yes we can't judge because we were the one's that smelt bad, had o find somewhere to go when we were out, struggled to take a plane flight, possibly jeopardised our childrens health smoking in a car or worse a house, missed out on the taste of beautiful food and wine. Every day a quitter needs to kiss the ground and realise how lucky they are. Life is a beautiful gift and there are so many distractions from enjoying it . Make good choices
