NRT vs Smoking

I find it really interesting that most NRT out there no matter where you buy them gum, patches etc is actually more expensive than tabacco products themselves. For example a 30 pack is about $38 and the patches for 2 weeks is about $60 the gum isn't so bad and does anyone find they manage to quit tabacco but then find themselves addicted to the NRT especially the gum.

Hi webbquit, re NRT and costs, that is what got my blood boiling 445 days ago. Decided to go cold turkey. At least that way I actually had control over the journey... Did not depend on one drug to replace another, let alone feeling I was not in control of my quit decision. I am addicted to all the positives that come with the realisation that there is no easy fix and I am beating the habit. Power to me...

Nrts are not cost effective short term, but over years of not smoking it is a fund raiser! If I understand you, you only smoked 3 0r 4 cigarettes a day. Why you would take an Nrt is beyond me. Learn about nicotine, how you got addicted. Set your mind and determination to quit. You do not have many habits or triggers to break. It should be a piece of cake!

Learning the Mindset will set you free!
