Need help

My last smoke was 07/23/16. Two days before my daughter told me I would be expecting my first grandchild in March .I really hope I will be able to tell my grandbaby how they help save my life one day by not smoking anymore. But,right now it is very hard.I been smoking for over 30yrs and has been a companion that had went through very good and bad times in my life. But I am looking forward to see what life is like without my former friend.I really dont want to introduce them to my future grandbaby.I doing so far cold turkey.I need help.Been off week last week go back Monday not feeling really secure right now

It really is hard to say goodbye to them as they have always been there, through good and bad. In saying that though they are an evil drug and see it for what it is. read the posts on here and everyone is going day by day just trying to get through. It really is a mind game, it takes strength and determination to get through and sometimes simply distraction. Go for a walk, go buy something small for the baby that's coming, make something for the baby, plan a trip for when you've saved money from NOT smoking, bake, start a diary, visit a friend, do a puzzle, crossword, go to the gym, sleep- basically anything that will take your mind elsewhere. Fight it because your worth it...
I've been smoking cigarettes for 23 years. I can understand you & I can relate to what you are going through giving up smoking cigarettes. I think in life I have learnt to always persevere & persist & be patient & committed & to be positive & hopeful & focused on your goal of becoming an nonsmoker. The more you try the further you will go. Try try try again and you will succeed. Never give up on giving up smoking cigarettes. You will become an nonsmoker one day. I wish you all of the very best with your attempts to giving up smoking cigarettes for good.

as you said a friend a companion we are losing (albeit a bad one) none the less still its a loss and so we have to grieve the loss and that is different for us all but it is a loss please remember this loss is loss.
