Chasing my first uear

310 days smoke and nicotine free. No more
Bunged up chest
Green balls
Stinking clothes
Sneaking out for a drag
Buying dozens of cigarretes
Smelly breath
Being told its disgusting
Condescending looks
Bronchitis
Wheezing
Putting cigarette out with shoe and trailing black marks on people's carpets
Telling fibs to the doctor
Yellow fingers
Yellow teeth
Changing clothes three times a day
Emptying ashtray in the car
Risking life and limb dropping cigarette in the car
Being disgusted with myself
Telling people I've really cut down when I haven't
Driving to a 24/7 garage in the early hours
Looking for butts to smoke
Panicking when only 1 left
Flicking lighted butt in the wrong direction.
Being the odd one out at a meal and disappearing at least three times.
Wasting thousands of pounds
Planning to give up but don't.
FREEDOM.

Hope everyone reads your post and identifies with reasons to stay on the straight and narrow.Too many reasons to quit for good.

All brilliant reasons to stay smoke free but I have to ask - Green Balls?

Wow I was struggling a bit this morning, Dobbin your post was just what I needed gonna make it my favourite story for reference thanks so much

Great post Dobbin. Well done on getting close to the milestone I am striving for. I'm not as close to the year as you (257 days) but the excitement is there that this time I have done it. I hope you have something special planned with all the money you have saved.

Hi Iwillbeatit. Sure have a brand new Gibson Les Paul guitar and twin fender amplifier.

Great post. Good to reflect on all those good reasons when, even a long way down the track, I still miss it.
Congratulations on a significant achievement.
