Requitting

I am on day 4 of my second quit. Last quit lasted 180 days. Then life got stressful and I called on my "buddy" to help me relax.
Last weekend I spent in hospital with a slight stroke. No major problems now, just a little slurring, some tingling in the upper quadrant of my mouth and some tingling in my right hand.
I knew this was a warning sign that I MUST QUIT! It isn't an option - it is a necessity to life.
Just want to tell you to preserve your quit date even if it means walking away from the stress~ Lesson learned here.

I started smoking at 14yo I'm now 61yo and I now have an aneurysm on my left brain. I find it very difficult as i have relied on my smoke for stress release. All my life I have had stress issues. I really want to quit but I have not relied on anyone but my smokes to get thru everything.

Welcome back, good luck to you this time around at least you know you can do this.
Your story is a powerful lesson to us all, it really doesn't matter how many days we are smoke free, we always need to stay alert, focused and strong.

Crikey, that's a tough way to learn a lesson. I hope you're feeling better soon and we'll done on stopping. It's crazy what we put our bodies through and surprising how much crap it can take. Take good care of yourself, hopefully this site will help you to stay stopped and regain your life.
