In day 289 smoke free and feeling great. Getting back to the gym soon to lose some weight as I have gained 14 pound. Thanks for support on this site have managed to get through some tricky periods but have learned a lot about addiction.
Have saved over $2600 and generally my health is so much better. Chest is totally clear and the rasping cough has gone. Thanks again for support here.

Well done and a good tip about the gym. That weight just sneaks up on you the moment you give up. It is amazing that the cough goes also. Hopefully forever.
Keep up your wonderful effort.

Hi Dobbin. At almost 13 months smoke free, I agree with your sentiments about the quitting and the support from fellow quitters. We enjoy sharing and this and the positive comments is what gets us over the "finish line". Mind you, we must stay in constant training as just like the weight gain, the terrible habit is not too far away if we err. But we won't. We will succeed. We haven't done all this for nothing! Mind you, the gym doesn't do it for me. Guess I like the newly acquired ability to actually taste food... Will need some more encouragement when I send out a mayday to fellow quitters.

That's awesome Dobbin, well done. I m also not a gym type person but i do like walking and Im going to be very active during my holiday (12 weeks) lots of swimming, walking , dancing and lots of fun.
Glad you have found what works for you....bravo, keep it up.

yes more to stopping smoking than stopping smoking.
guess we all have our own path to tread and when its time its time to make other changes.
