Hey Smokefree 70, you should see your doctor and let them know this is how you are feeling, they will be able to assess your symptoms more thoroughly and provide the best advice on what you should do. Don't let these things go for too long, make sure you keep talking it out etc. I am also on champix, this is my third week and I have been smoke free for 7 days today. I have been getting more agitated randomly but I have really taken it on board and accepted it to the point where I expect it every morning after taking the tablet and it has really helped me. I also listen to podcasts to concentrate on something positive which helps keep me calm. We are here if you need anything :o)

never took them but if that's not something you do without champix I would be at the Dr asap.

I didn't take Champix but I remember Day 14 was simply the hardest. There are two reasons for misery : physical and psychological. I'd check with the doctor about the former but I know that the latter - our mind's response to giving up - is very powerful. I also know it gets better. Good luck.

How are you getting on now? Did you speak with your Doctor? I have had the same experience as you and have now stopped taking Champix, whilst it certainly helped me to stop smoking, the side effects have made me feel that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I've had the crying and bad dreams and just feeling like I don't know why I'm in the world.

I'm not on medication for this but I have noticed that I have been a tad more emotional than usual now that I haven't been smoking for a few days and my anxiety is through the roof and I will start to freak out and cry. I feel like it's just another withdrawal symptom. Crazy how I wanted to quit to feel better but now I feel even worse! More motivation to quit now since I never wanna deal with these withdrawals again.

Hi all. Ty for all your support. I have now been smoke free for 5 weeks, still on champix. But no longer feeling so sad. Keep up 👆 with all the non smoking. Its worth it in the end 😝 All I hve too tackle now is too stop snacking too compensate for the cigarettes ✋

I managed to quit while on Champix however, while taking them I felt a little down compared to normal and a little spaced out. But coming off them was terrible and am still suffering side effects. I have quit prior to this time by going cold turkey and it wasn't pleasant at all but it was nothing compared to what I went through using Champix. It probably won't affect you but if you're still using them I suggest tapering off very gently and have someone keep an eye on you. I would not wish what I went through on anyone..

Wenders, I'm curious as to whether any side effects have been long term for you?
