Help please.
I'm on day 14 of my champix course. By day 11 I felt I could go without smoking but kept going to my planned quit day of day 13. I now have the concern that the effects of champix are weakening as I am still smoking and the amount in smoking is increasing again.
Is this normal? Or am I one of the few that the champix doesn't work for?

never used champix but quitting means putting down the smokes how ever that happens the end result is the same, we have to not smoke, the pills wont do that for us.
sure you can do it if you want too :)

Sorry, nor me. The fear is i the stopping but there's nothing to be afraid of and everything to gain. The nicotine is only in your system for 48 hours after your last smoke. I'm not saying it's easy for everyone but your attitude towards stopping really matters. You need to be positive, strong and be ready to dismiss the nicodemons every time they knock on your door. You can do this, the fact you're taking the first step is proof of that. Let us know how it goes.

I had such an experience with Zyban. It was about 8 years ago and felt that my body had developed a mechanism to accept both Zyban and nikotine after 2 or 3 weeks of successful decreasing the amount of smoking and it began to increase again. so this time I decided to just throw the pack of cigarrete away. it is the sixth day and I do not smoke even after drinking alcohol. It is very very hard and every night I sleep fighting the craving cause I used to smoke every single night just before going to bed. However it is doable And I know that you can do it cause you are so determind to quit.
just put it away, stay strong and keep posting here.

Welcome Lob, I also used Champix, this is my second attempt. The first attempt I was not mentally ready, this time around I smoked normally until my quit date then stopped, it was not that easy but I just did.
Remember Champix is not a miracle pill, it does help with the cravings but they are still there, becoming smoke free is mostly about willpower taking one hour or one day at a time. Read the stories n this site, everyone has a different way of handling their journey. This site has been invaluable to me, I check in everyday and read the posts, it helps strengthen my resolve, I know I can never have even one puff of a cigarette because I am an addict and always will be but each day is another day smoke free, today is day 95. If I can do this so can you as long as your head is in the right place, good luck and keep posting

Hello and welcome Lob, I also used Champix and am 35 days smoke free. As storm said, it is not a miracle pill so you cannot just rely on them....you must REALLY want to quit, your mind has to be in control and not your urges. Small steps lead to bigger ones, hours lead to days etc...stay positive and good luck.
