Hardest day yet

So the enivitable happened - my first bout of PMS in 11 years without smokes to see me through. I've cried all day in frustration - called Quitline and allowed myself to eat whatever junk food I wanted unashamed. Still tough - anyone for anyone got any ideas?

I get man PMS :), and well did you smoke? no? then its a win and you will do better next time I am sure in how you deal with it, but I have found for me this quitting thing is one step forward and 1/2 a step back and some take to it like a duck to water others not so much.
for me the easier it is to quit means the reasons for smoking were not us well deep seated and those of us that do it hard have some other issues other than smoking to deal with.
so well done reaching out for help it takes courage to do that and swallowing of some pride all good attributes if we are to quit and stay quit.
so you did well :) keep going they tell me it gets easier so one day at time I am finding out if I do not smoke yes it does get easier with some work on my part.

Hi Elle and welcome. Like IC said, you didnt cave in and that's a win...small wins are the small steps that lead to giant leaps. Try chewing sugarless gum. Keep reading stories here that may help and encourage you and keep posting on your progress. Good luck

Hi Elle, well done for not smoking, especially with pms and the emotional rollercoaster. You do whatever it takes to not smoke, I go through my list of why I wanted to quit when things get tough and I ask myself will a cigarette make anything in my life change for the better? ANSWER. NO😮 I also find walking, having a bath, punching something( like a pillow) or screaming into said pillow helps and sometimes anything that will distract me from thinking about bloody smoking😱 this is hard because it is an addiction to nicotine, but we can do it, one hour at a time, one day at a time, this to shall pass and we will succeed. I hope this may help as much as it helps me😎 miss lizzy
