I have been on patches again for two weeks, I'm going to try cold turkey now, I've tried everything else apart from this. Luck and willpower required

Hi Anne1 welcome to the group. Trust all goes well with cold turkey. That was my choice and so far it is working for me. Keep up the good work and look forward to your posts. Dobbin

Hello Ann1

I was on two packs a day and I'd been smoking for decades. I gave up cold turkey and for me it was the best way. There is some suffering involved (white knuckling) for a few days but once you see that you are able to do this, then your faith increases. We need to believe that we can do it. We need to go through the mind making us crave for nicotine but our better senses and resolve telling us it will pass. Yes - cravings will pass and you will become stronger and stronger and more aware of the lies and deception

Hi Ann1, hang in there, willpower is the only thing that really gets the job done. Because regardless of what method we use, there is still a certain amount of craving. The journey is not easy but we only have to get through today smoke free, tomorrow is too far away to worry about and yesterday is gone forever.

I wish you well

Hi Ann, if your head is in the right place and you're willing to commit, you can do it. Small steps will lead to huge leaps. Good luck on your journey and keep us posted.
