30 days smoke free!!
So i did it and there's no looking back!! I have no urges and no interest in smoking, the only residual left is the occasional 'thought'. I am almost completely off Champix now...having weaned myself, first by taking .5 tab every second morning for 1 week and then dropped another day for a week and so forth. I dont think I need it but im taking my last half tab tomorrow.
On another note, which I havent mentioned before.....at the end of this month, my husband and I are going on an overseas holiday for 12 weeks (long service leave) and my quit plan/goal from the beginning was to have quit before this holiday. First flight is 14 hours to Dubai, cant smoke either way....and when we get off...I am NOT gonna rush around looking for a smoking area......NO WAY!.
4 years ago....we flew to Greece. I remember getting off the plane and both of us heading for a smoke area. At Athens airport, they have a smoking room within the airport, with glass windows all around it....I remember going in there to smoke and feeling disgusted....also felt like a caged animal in the zoo where people walked by and around it and could see you. I dont ever want to feel like that again!! I am so happy/proud that this time I will walk straight past this glass smokers room and just feel pity for the poor caged animals.
Well done Flora. Enjoy your holiday. Fully understand looking for the smoking area after a long flight and feeling like a loser. Just one more benefit of beating the habit. Your 30 days free of cigarettes is a massive achievement. Enjoy it.

Yes Storm, hubby is still smoking although I can see he is somewhat envious. He says he wants to quit with Champix when we get back from our holiday...his reason is........ "i want to be able to enjoy a smoke with my frappe on the greek islands" . The thing is, I totally get that thought/image, almost romanticizing it........but I am not fooled either lol.
Indeed the seed has been planted, we shall see.
yeah good story enjoyed it , hope it all goes well and your not the local look mommy a smoker in a cage exhibit for everyone to look at.
addiction makes us do things we don't want too !!
