238 days smoke free and still resolved. I am 68 this year and reaping the benefits of not being a slave to the cigarette at long last. Chest has totally cleared and no more rasping cough. Don't have to feel giddy when I take that first drag in the morning. Don't have to hate buying that pack when I didn't want to. Wear the same jumper more than twice without having to wash it. Don't have to sneak outside when at a meal with friends. Don't blow 2nd hand smoke in people's faces. Saved a small fortune. General health is better. Why would I want to start again ?

Have watched your progress. Another graduate, I feel. Welcome to the class of stayers. Always good to see someone is going the distance and not disappearing on a puff of smoke...gr8 job...

Hey Dobbin,

Glad to see your example going ahead of us! I also don't want to be a slave to ciggies and look forward to my 238th day too.

Thank you for coming back to share your story. What an achievement!

You give us new ones a focus that this can be done. One day at a time.

Your post just reinforces the negatives of this ugly habit.

Determined to stay smoke free.

Seen on the news tonight regarding the proposed budget, by the year 2020, a packet of 25 smokes will be $40.00..

That should be a really great incentive to give up the smokes.

Anne55, yes 1 day at a time, and then the days just seem to melt away into another day. But your doing great.
