Addict

I am an addict to the core. I get addicted to just about everything. I stay away from gambling because I felt myself getting sucked into it at some point. I am a recovering alcoholic. Sober for 27 years. Before I was sober I went on pain meds following a bad accident. The doctor was smart to eventually cut me off from those when I kept asking for more. Anyway, I am finding quitting cigarettes to be the hardest thing I have ever done. By far. It seems relentless at times. I'm trying to think of it like every time I go through a rough spot I'm that much closer to victory.

Hey Mark57
I am an addict to the core too. What you've said about giving up cigarettes to be the hardest thing you've even done will also be the greatest achievement for you and us!
I'm 80 days smoke free today!

Go hard mark57, I am also an addict - how many times have I tried to quit smoking? I can't count that far. Good luvk and try hard (only day 1 for me)

Addiction is a tough thing to live with and these people, posting on this site, are all fellow addicts. I know this is the toughest thing on earth but I have also realized it is possible. That is a great relief for someone who thought beating her addiction was impossible.
Keep up the good work.

I have 89 days. But I had many times where I only made it 1 day or maybe 3, IC. We are in the battle. Even just one day is an accomplishment
