Needing a smoke

Hi I hope everyone is going well... I've lost my uncle to cancer he was told he had 6-12 months to live 5 weeks later he dies.. I really need a smoke anyone have any tips to not smoke? Been 4 weeks since I gave up and I don't want to go through the withdrawals again

Dear ShellMor
Sorry you have lost your uncle. Family are so special.
I just wish to say that having a smoke will not make it any better.
Understand your pain.
He would not wish you any more pain than you have right now.
Don't have a smoke, go and sit outside and remember him.
The sky even covered in cloud is special.

life can be real sucky sometimes that's for sure, but I am sure your uncle wouldn't want you to have a smoke on his account.
pain is hard with or without a smoke so may as well go smoke free. going to be feeling real strong after you get through the worst part of this.
hang in there !!

Just proves that the craving for nicotine is so illogical. As if inhaling these poisons is going to make us feel better or take away any pain we may feel. Besides, sometimes the best thing to do when we are truly sad about losing someone dear to us is to let the tears flow, accept the pain and be happy that we are able to celebrate someone else's life. The message from your uncle is loud and clear. Look after the skin and the body you are in. All the more powerful is a message for you to travel a different road and avoid the nicotine.

So sorry to hear about your loss, but so good to know that you are still on track. today is my 35th day smoke free, and the only advice I can give, is take one day at a time and remember how hard the journey has been sometimes that is all I have that stops me lighting a cigarette. Good luck, this site can be so supportive use it

I think the pain's the same with or without the smoke. And a couple of weeks later you will be so in awe of yourself for not smoking at this difficult, painful time. Good luck.
