Day 45 without a cigarette

I am now at the end of day 45 on my cold turkey quit without smokes, ecigarettes or any form of nicotene.

Yesterday, I had to spend several hours in a meeting with a friend of mine who still smokes. I noticed that he had no staying power and always wanted to be out of the room to have a cigarette. That looked like ME 45 days ago and I started feeling sorry for my friend. After 45 days being smoke free I have so much more will power to do things. I made this post for anyone who comes here because you were looking for 45 days smoke free or 45 days without a cigarette blogs and needed to hear how someone else was improving.

Do I still crave for cigarettes . Yes I do .. but today I noticed that it is really is getting better. Today I told myself that I' ve spent more of my life smoking than not smoking, so I don't really know what its like to be a non smoker. Well, I should start to enjoy it right? I am grateful today for the air I am breathing. I'm getting far more oxygen than ever and I encourage myself and anyone else here to keep it up! I'm convinced just like many others that the first puff gets you hooked again so I have a healthy fear not to even try smoking again

Agree with you that just one puff can land you back where you were. Let's face it for years, it was just "one puff at a time". Keeping that foe at more than an arms length away matched with a healthy fear / respect is what may keep us in the what appears to be a minority of success stories. I think there are quite a few who just have that one puff for whatever reason and then continue to do so. Never is one enough...

Well done Manchild.

In the past week I have had to be at and in a hosptal x2..... 1st day was for about 7 hours and then the next day for about 4 hours,, the smoking me would have wanted to be out of that hospital asap, getting agitated as the minutes ticked by and still being in the hospital.

The non smoking new me saw me at the hospital, just chilling, waiting for the staff to do what was needed for me.

So yes quiet a life changing moment, for the better

Congrats on your 45 days.

Seems we share the same quitting date, and method.. Congratulations my friend.

Things are getting much easier now.. Smoking during everyday's life activities like driving, walking, during breaks, watching TV,, smoking here becomes meaningless .

The true challenge is when I'm in places where I used to smoke and enjoy like gathering in cafe's with friends, Thanks God I'm still determined to not come back.

I'm not ready anymore to sacrifice my:

Health

Sleep

Skin color

Teeth color

Fresh breath

Money

Mood

Tasting food

Fitness

Time with my kids

Just to puff a silly smoke.. It's not fair no?
