Patches

I quit a week ago cause I had stroke, but now I'm finding it hard even with the patches

come on Wendy ; you can do it!! Be strong willed. Sometimes the patches can be a hindrance, your body still has nicotine in it. Try cold turkey. 1 hour at a time. Drink water every time you want to smoke. Go to bed early. Keep your fingers busy. keep it up for 2 days! Go for it. You're not giving anything up! You are getting your life back...Listen to me raving on ! sorry,it helps me to help you... all the best of encouragement to you Wendy

Yes Wendy, you can do it and to be honest you HAVE to do it for your own health!! Are you on the strongest patch..21mg? Besides what johnboy has suggested try deep breathing every time the craving hits you and go for walks or get up and do something.
I'm also on the patches and besides the itchy skin where I put the patch in different places each day and them not sticking properly I find them great.
You really have to have your head in the right space and you really have got to want to stop smoking otherwise you are making it so much harder for yourself. The ball is in your court Wendy but if it was me and already had a stroke, I'd stop ASAP. Good luck

Thanx guys for the feedback. Does anyone recommend how long I should stay on the 21mg patches for, before I go on the 14mg? I was smoking about 20+ a day?

My Dr gave me a script for them and for the 21mg it is 3 months and then you step down to 14mg but not sure how long you stay on them for until you drop down to the 7mg.....good luck
