Where I am today

I thought I could quit without support, not for me. I have wanted to do this since I started 25 years ago. But it took a good time and direct medical advice for me to try. 25 days smoke free and I have the cigs all but lit. I have weird stomach sensation but its better than smoking. I did prepare my needs in the beginning, I knew I had to stay away from people, places and shops. I would gave and smoke again. Tonight I went food shopping and stood in line at the smoke section. This demon I will have to fight for a long time. I did not buy any but on my way to the cay I told myself to load the car up and then go back in and buy cigs, only a small packet and do not open them, have them for a emergency. And if I had done so I would have smoke already. On a positive note I have said nope for today. No shops for me now for a few days. Just writing how easy it is to do.

Proud of you. Each step to not give in to the smokes is a very important step.
Not today, not to smoke today. Good stuff.

Kath, 25 days is great, you can do it you proved to yourself at the shop, yes you teased yourself but came away without any smokes, hi 5s 2 u.
Always have to be on your guard cause the Nicotine Demon is just waiting for you to slip up.
Be determined with your goals.

Hi Kath57
For me 273 days smoke free, saved $5678 from the ashtray and put on 20 kg. So, not smoking, despite the 1/2 carton in the cupboard. Credit card has never looked so healthy. 2 out of 3 ain't bad... With the money I have saved, I figure I can afford to pay someone to exercise for me & the kilos will simply disappear... Hmmm, I wish...

You are clearly 'toughening up' and did really well to avoid buying some. Well done!! This is classic subconscious trying to pull the strings and direct you back to smoking - don't let it win! Have you ever considered a good hypnotherapist to help get your subconscious thinking back in focus? Considering you have no nicotine in your system, it is just your mind that need the extra focus and clarity right now.

The "brainwasher" and the nicotine monster work in union. I'm too dealing with brainwasher when he says is ok to have one. 9 days smoke free so far this time. Have to get passed what is usually my 9 week limit and hopefully just keep going. The monsters are always there.
