144 hrs and breathing

144 hrs and breathing, I use to say this will kill me to stop smoking even for a day, but I am still breathing, a little better. Have been toying with the idea of using a little nicotine to get me through, tired of the weird feelings and just wanting a little help. I have to ask myself if the demon is putting its thoughts into my head, or maybe I am being weak. I also thought if I slept a month or 3 would this be a better way to detox. I wonder how the exreme rich get through this. I can QUIT, just for today.

Hi cath57, yes you can quit without the quick hit of nicotine; as you said one day at a time. I like your idea of sleeping through the detox too; it would be so much easier. Hang in there, you can do it.

If it was to be so easy to quit, then why do you think we are all on this site, seeking affirmation or encouragement from those who truly understand what we all go through. Yes, day 254 for me is so much easier than day 1 or 10 or whatever... It means you cannot give yourself some nicotine reward as an incentives to keep going. Doing so will set you back to where you started and you may find deciding to stop is not so easy. It is your decision.

good said lia. i am just 26 hr smoke free.. wish to complete day 2 smoke free.. it is a challange for me..
