One Month Smoke Free

Sunday 31/1/16 was my 4 week anniversary of being a non-smoker. I do feel better - but its not like I feel amazing. I found the first 2-3 weeks fairly easy as I went to a health farm for the first week where I could not smoke and kickstarted a new diet and was exercising daily. Weeks 2-3 have been focusing on eating healthy foods, reading/study, not drinking alcohol (stopped for January to avoid smoking triggers) and walking the dog. However, this week I've noticed that my cravings have increased and I've craved sitting down with a few cold beers and cigarettes. I feel I need to increase my exercise and try to spend less time sitting down reading. From past experiences, weeks 4-12 are danger zones for me as I either become complacent or fail to implement healthy alternatives to smoking/drinking. I'm using Nicolette Gum which is helping but maybe need to mix up my stop-smoking aides? I think I need to incorporate more exercise into my routine but am procrastinating presently.

Do what you have to do to avoid picking up again, just keep it right for you. I am truly struggling today but to be honest every day will be a struggle, I will get stronger than the nicotine, at times I have to read to believe, reason why I am writing this, to help me believe in life without nicotine.

schedule 2 Feb 2016

One day at a time. Even 5 months down the track, I am hit with three days of intermittent cravings. But there is too much behind me now so I stomp, I have a couple of drinks and I return to this site. It is unquestionably easier than three months ago so just keep ticking off those days. It's so hard but we are climbing mountains and that is hard

Good luck and be determined.
