Hi everyone!

I wonder if it gets easier with time without cigarettes or it gets worse. Do cigarette cravings ever really stop? In a way I m so excited about all this cleaning process but I fear I ll miss the sensation too much.

Absolutely it gets easier! Somedays are better than others but it definitely gets easier. Stay strong and focus on the long term picture. Just picture yourself 5 years from now without the crutch of a smokie!

Can you really afford not to stop? There is nothing wrong with a $7k or $8K pay rise. You may miss the money more than the cigarettes. This is a great site if you need support & encouragement, not to mention the accolades when you post a success story.

Stay strong and it does get easier and I agree some days are better than others. I love the quote "Change a thought ... Move a muscle" and this has helped me at times when a crave hits (the cravings have become less and less for me over time). Keep checking in with the site - there is always some good advice

I found that at 100 days it was easier than at the start. And the longer you succeed the easier it gets.

I smoked 30 a day for 50 years and was doubtful that I could stop. But stop I did and today I celebrate 4 years without a smoke.

So yes it does get easier - you just gotta hang in there :)

4 years - I can't believe I did it (grin)

I hope so ... smoke free for half a month now and it is definitely easier than the first week...although at times all i wonder is....maybe one smoke won't hurt??? but i am sure it will...!!! stay strong hun!

Well done Gerry1.

I am 16 weeks now and yes each day now is easier, but I wont lie and say I still dont have a craving, cause yes I do...but I am very stubborn and knowing I have come along way to get to where I am now being smoke free.

What I probably enjoy by not smoking...is when I leave the house I just grab my purse n phone before it was...have I got enough smokes for where I am going?..have I got a lighter?.. smoking controlled my life and lifestyle.

I still have my smokes on the table and am not even tempted to having "just 1".

It does get easier. It's not easy 100% of the time but a) it's easy 80% of the time and b) you become more stubborn when it's a challenge. There is a lot to be said for hanging in as it creates new neural pathways.

I havent smoked for 59 days. Some days it is extremely easy and other days it is a bit harder. I have to abstain from drinking alcoholic beverages because thats when the cravings hit the hardest. Not only can i do this but yall can do it to! Keep at it!
