5 days in Champix
I've just started on champix, and have recently felt a dull ache in the right side of my chest, sort of like a stitch. I've never experienced anything like it whilst I was on champix before. I tried going cold turkey today, but became irritable. Needless to say cold turkey ain't for me. What other ways are there to get the best outcome from the tabs?

Hi there 3rd time lucky. I have been on champix now for 37 days exactly and I have to say - TRY and stick with them if you possibly can! I too had strange and very uncomfortable aches, pains and sensations on this tablet. I spent about 10 days with tummy pains, bad ones, headaches, what I thought was appendicitis sort of pain - it went on and on! But I have to say, all those symptoms have gone, my body has adjusted to the champix. I am 27 days smoke free, and pretty proud of my achievement so far. Still bringing that old willpower into play every single day, but hey - the benefits are so so worth it. Good luck

3rd time lucky....wishing you all the best in the biggest quest in your life..Giving up the Habit of Smoking.
I never had Champix, so I don't know the symptoms you are experiencing, whether they are natural or not, but any concerns out of the ordinary I would strongly suggest going to see your GP..
I went cold turkey,...any method you are going to choose some will work over others but you must understand that there is going to be so many adjustments your body is going to undergo, and not forgetting mood swings and irritability, You have to be the Victor over the Habit that doesn't want you to Quit.
Quitting is not an easy..if it was every smoker would be doing it...
But perseverance will, get you there.
Looking forward to hearing of your achievments.
Thanks guys. I've revised my quit day to next Friday. I have cut down smoking dramatically in the last 6 days, from 30 a day to 6 yesterday. I will get there, but it ain't easy when I'm the only smoker in my family. My wife doesn't get why I'm so irritable. Thanks again.

3rd time lucky....Firstly...Don't be sooooo hard on yourself.....you have cut down soooo that is a major step into your journey of quitting.
Having no one else in your home that smokes should make it easier, meaning you are not smelling their habit.
I live rural and have a neighbor that lives about 80 meters away he lights up I get the wiffs.
Secondly put your feet up have a lovely cuppa or what ever beverage and a smoke and
enjoy life till Friday.
When Friday becomes another chapter in your life.
