Failing attempts to quit.

Hi I'm GIovani.. I'm 25 years of age So it all started from New Years Eve where I have quit smoking all the way to July cold turkey... During July I was going through a rough time which lead me back to smoking due to stress & anxiety kicking in heavy from a messy break up. It all went away within a month and I moved on with my life. Lately I have been trying my best to give up but it's not happening! I tried to quit so many times but I just can't seem to have the willpower. I get this bad headache and feel the need to quit although 3 weeks ago I quit for 10 days but then I said I'll just have one with a coffee! Silly mistake. My skill to quit is water and normal chewy when I get a craving.. I am trying everyday and keep telling my self I'll quit tomorrow but it's not working out. Anyone got some tips for me ? Would help a lot. I want to feel better and healthier!!!

Hope you find what it takes for you to quit. Actually not smoking makes dealing with stress easier. Smoking tends to make the problem even seem bigger and worse than it is. You ask if anyone has tips for you. On this site there are truck loads of tips. Read them and decide if there is something that rings true for you. Everyone finds different motivation techniques. Also decide what you consider a desirable reward. Often the two go hand in hand. I am up to day 198 cold turkey and over $4100 saved from the ashtray. My saviour was someone called BigJon. He is the one who got me to name my craving "Margaret Thatcher". Well, that has worked all this time...

Unfortunately there is no one size fits all but Lia gives you great advice about reading the stories of others on this site. It has helped me a lot and I am now 44 days smoke free and like Lia it has been cold turkey. The saying "Move a muscle...Change a thought" has helped me when I have a craving. Good luck on your journey and never give up trying to give up.
