Dont give up giving up!

I have had another relapsed. In the last 7 years I must have started smoking again 3 or 4 time for a few weeks to a few months at the time. I am going to give up one more. Each time there is stress in my life I reach out for this poisonous crutch. My message is, it does not matter how many time you try again to give up. Keep doing until you are strong enough to give up for good. That is what I want to do. I visualised my future without smoking. Smaller goals first doing it for one whole year.

Good luck with your latest quit. I am on day 44 of this quit. I consider this one to be my final one. I too have quit previously and had slip ups here and there. While I felt a failure at the time, I now consider it was all part of the learning process. I know now where I erred. My biggest mistake was going in with the attitude 'It won't matter if I have the odd one here and there.....I will be able to control it '. The simple fact of the matter is that once I start, I can't control it. One puff for me leads to many. My second biggest mistake was using the fear failing again as an excuse to keep putting off my new quit date. My unsuccessful previous quits have taught me what my danger times and triggers are and have given me the ability to better manage and plan for them. I now don't consider my previous attempts to quit were failures. They were all part of the process of learning how to finally beat my nicoteen addiction. My biggest tip for anyone who has had a slip up is to get back on the wagon ASAP and don't let things linger by continuing to put off your next attempt. I now visualise my future as being one without smoking. I see my future as being healthier and more financial (and longer) than it would be if I continued to smoke. All the best Nadiame.

Nadiame, you can only but try and only for yourself..if you fail dust yourself off and try again if thats your wish...don't beat yourself about failing this round.
Stay strong and determined.

just do it, continue avoiding that voice in your head and you will succeed before you know it...first month is the worst

Congratulations on coming this far. Everything we do in our lives requires effort & perserverance. Every small step you take in giving up smoking will add up eventually to your victorious day of becoming a Happy & Healthy nonsmoker !!!!****.
