Seven days and feeling great!

Its the morning of day 8 of smoke free me!!! I got through the first week and am feeling wonderful. No coughing of a morning, more energy, and very proud of me :D who world have thought i could get through 1 day workout a ciggy let alone a week?.... after a 50 a day habit.... not me! I was one of those "i like to smoke, i enjoy it" kind of ppl. Mind games still going on i my but i actually like the fact that when the voice pops up whinging about wanting a smoke. I remind myself it just wants to see me fail.... i have no issue in telling it to bugger off, that i will not be having even a puff! I feel empowered when i do so and like nothing is going to get me to light up ever again. I hope you all are feeling like your having some success with your journey...if i can do this...everybody can!!!! I read this site often of an evening add that is my toughest time...and it helps keep me on track... thankyou to all for your support and encouragement, it has been the main tool to my not lighting up.... i hope your day today is magical and we all continue to kick butt!! Hugs to you all.

Well done Niki72. Keep it up you are doing great. It sounds as if you have the mindset to succeed. The mind games and voices you describe will probably persist for a little while yet. Hang in there. Stay strong. Personally I am finding that as I get further into my quit journey the mind games and voices start to fade and become little more than passing thoughts.

Do you realise you have just had a pay rise of $50 a day if you were smoking 50 a day. That is over $18000 pa. Unbelievable! I bet your boss would not give you such a phenomenal increase. Just shows what you can do when you truly care about yourself. After 10 years I hope you can think of something amazing to buy for $180 000. How do you feel about a Lamborghini...

Hi Niki72. Well done. Keep going... you can do it! For now, create distractions for yourself so you wouldn't be tempted to light up. The nicotine addiction is short live, and you must not give in no matter what. You will love a smoke-free life :). I have been clean for 449 days, and absolutely feel amazing! I am happy not being enslaved by tobacco, n poison nicotine. Best wishes!! Keep loving yourself!
