Rocks and diamonds

Day 28 or 4 weeks or, if it had of been February, 1 month. Still having some bad days but beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel ... hope it's not a train coming the other way. The only tip I can give is don't believe everything in the official quit timelines, your body is going to do what your body wants to do, no one size fits all I'm afraid. Question for people who have been quit for 6 months + , do you still find improvements in your smell, breathing, overall health etc after the initial few months ?

Keep it going 2 Pack. I am two days in front of you (day 30) which I hope will always be the case!!! I hope people come back and tell you that the improvements keep coming. In the (almost) month since I have stopped smoking the improvements for me have been absolutely amazing. My sense of smell and taste have improved out of sight. I am not wheezing or coughing anymore and I am not running out of puff easily when I am out exercising (and I am exercising a lot more). I think this is incredible as I have been a pack a day smoker for 31 years!!! All in such a short time!!!! I have been lucky as the bad days basically stopped for me after week two and I am now starting to think I am pretty much over it as cravings are no longer cravings for me. They are the occassional passing thought that i am finding quite easy to knock on the head. I totally agree with you that no one size fits all. I hope you find soon that the bad days for you become less in frequency and less bad in intensity. All the best with your quit journey!!!!

As I read Thread's response I must say to all that was written, ditto, ditto, ditto. Agree totally. Same for me. This is at day 185. There comes a time when in the 2 digit numbers of quitting, be they minutes, hours, days, weeks or even decades, we can always think about lighting up. What we cannot deal with is having to go back to square 1, our own disappointment in ourselves and the feeling of letting supporters down. That is why we keep going.
