To be or not to be, to have or not to have...
Hi all! Day 130 smoke free! Nearly $2500 saved... So it is obvious I have chosen not to be a smoker. However, to manage all the variables, just like those that happen in my golf game, I have chosen to keep my 1/2 pack of ciggies in my handbag and the half carton I abandoned in my cigarette cupboard. They are not a temptation. The not so good moments in my life that have plagued me recently have not made me reach for a cigarette! Actually having a cigarette during stressful times just delays the inevitable as problems don't go away just because we pretend we are de-stressing with a nicotine fix. Another thing, Margaret Thatcher (my craving's name) still tries to trick me into weakening and I know what to say to her... It is good not to have a craving with MY name on it. After registering on this site many of us have gained knowledge, wisdom and power. As I read the posts I can see how the stories posted are empowering others. Those who have enjoyed success, be it a day or 500 days, clearly want others to listen, succeed & post their own unique story and suggestions. Enjoy hearing from the determined quitters. May you live a longer, happier, healthier life.

I really enjoy reading these posts from the 100 plus days people,like you and a few others on here Lia, as it shows us that it can be done, even though you guys still struggle sometimes it gives me hope..
It also makes me aware that this is just the beginning of the journey, and to be constantly aware of triggers and warning signs of a possible slip up or excuse to smoke, or even making excuses to justify smoking..
The cost savings are amazing - what are you going to do with your $2,500 Lia, treat yourself to a holiday?
