Monitoring Triggers

schedule 15 Oct 2015

Still teetering along. I am watching the triggers, or the times I really want to light up. Phone calls, I have a friend who I speak to on the phone daily ( or did until I started this program). We spoke last night and I got really antsy and fidgety- wanted to light up. Since I got rid of all smoking material ( BEST HINT EVER!!), that wasn't an option. So grabbed a cough drop, and sure enough the urge passed. For me they seem to last longer than 5 minutes.

I am dreaming at night about smoking. My inner brat is really fighting hard to get her way.

The morning cravings aren't too bad. The worst is still about 2 in the afternoon. That is a signal to me that I really don't want to light up. I need nourishment ( veggies and hummus) and a large ( 22 oz) glass of water.

That gets me through the afternoon.

Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and suggestions, having you is making this a little easier.

Well done on giving up. Keep at it! You will overcome your inner brat. Just remember that its your choice to give up not your inner brats choice to smoke. Have a great smoke free day.

Good on you for beating the urges with healthy food! My urges only last for about a minute now. I'm on day 66 so maybe it's getting a bit easier. I may try the hummus and veg too I've been eating crap to fill that empty hole and I've put on at least 5 kg!! Good on you for ignoring your inner brat!
