I slipped and smoked today

I smoked 3 of my fiancés cigs today. I had such a horrible day. I had my granddaughter for the weekend and had to take her home today (she lives 2 1/2 hours away) there won't be any cigs around tomorrow so I guess I have yo start over and everything was out of my system and I wasn't even craving them. Please HELP me! Help me get through this. Thanks!

Just start again, and keep going with the quitting.. remember how hard the first part of giving up was and just don't smoke anymore and see how long you can hold out..
Good luck.

Don't be upset - slipping up happens and I have witnessed so many on this site putting their slip up behind them and continuing to NOT smoke. I think you should draw a big mountain with you at the bottom of one side and then a rainbow at the bottom of the other side. Then you can visualise yourself climbing that mountain with all the hard work that entails, but reaching the top and easily sliding towards the rainbow. We just need to hold at the front of our minds what our goal is and what we are trying to achieve.
Good luck with it.

Hi Shady,
You mentioned a while back that you were interested in colouring in. I just searched and there are lots of pages you can download from the internet. Here is one I found :
www.crayola.com.au/free-coloring-pages

youll be right, dust yourself off and hop back on that no smoking train. 1 day at a time we can all beat this stinkn demon together

Hi Shady time to brush yourself off and as Julie Andrews says "climb every mountain and follow your dream"

Hi Shady. Everyone here has the right advice for you. If you embrace this site and the encouragement from those determined to beat the habit I don't know how you can possibly fail. Discover the strategies used by others and when you find one, make it your own and report back about the successes and challenges you have have.

Thank you everyone for the encouragement. I will pick myself up, dust myself off and try again. I was reading an article that said most people take 2-3 times before they actually quit. I am determined to do it. I want to see my granddaughter (she's 8) get married and be a great-grandma. I can do it, the dr. said that my lungs are clear and no weezing for as many years of smoking! But can somebody tell me how to cough the stuff up? I've never had a smokers cough and am not coughing now.

Hi Shady02, Isn't nice to know that you are "human" Don't be too hard on yourself just keep on going. It's not easy,we all know that but remember "why" you want to give up and keep your sight's on that. good luck
