Day 28, almost my first month gone of quitting smoking, and my savings Thermometer online is on a sweet $700..

To say it flew by would be a lie, and to say it was easy would be a lie, but what is true is that it is a serious growing-up experience, and takes serious commitment and determination to get even this far into the ride.

I must thank all of you in assisting me so far in getting to my first Month, and holding me up when I fell down, and for all the tips, hints and support.

I would never have been able to do this without you guys.

So, Well Done all of you and thank you all for the support.

I hope you all have happy, Smoke free weekend..

Dave

Yeah! On behalf of everybody else who will praise your success, I agree it is the support from those on this site who truly understand and identify with us who make sure we stick to the plan. Some regulars are almost like friends and we don't want to disappoint them but more importantly we want to walk the walk with them. It is a long journey and not a race and it is nice to know that the stragglers are on the same page as those who have gone a longer distance. Regardless of where someone might be on the trail there are those who were there once and for all of us there is always someone higher up the ladder of success that comes back to give encouragement. Let's face it, day 1 is the scariest as opposed to day 50 or 100.

Well done Dave, day 11 for me almost done and dusted. Very nearly talked myself into a smoke tonight but managed to abstain. Think i will go to bed soon to stop thinking about it, been a very tough day today.

Good luck to you too, Dave. It seems like it's been a tough week all 'round but just imagine if we did not have the support we have here. I read one of your posts about looking back at our reasons to quit and that was timely for me. I think as time goes on we can become a bit complacent and forget why we have begun this torturous journey. Then, when a strong craving comes, our resistance is weakened. I have just read my reasons again, thanks to you, and that will hopefully get me through the weekend on an even keel.

Good luck to you and everyone else.

Top effort Dave. The first month is the longest, but we have proved that it can be done. I know I've surprised myself but I certainly don't want to waste all the angst by smoking. I hope you have done something special to celebrate your 28 days. I'm sending you virtual chocolates 🎁🎁🎁

Hey Dave - So proud of you - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Really happy to see you still hanging in there. I see you handled that one little slip up really well and quickly got back on track. Many lessons to learn with different situations on this journey & if you keep at it you'll get there. A whole month is a such a huge achievement.

schedule 11 Oct 2015

Well done Dave...it does get a bit easier. I love the fact that I don't think of smoking all the time anymore.
