New member wanted to introduce myself!

Hi, my name is valic, and I have been a smoker for over 20 yrs. I am 36 years old now so that's over half my life! I have tried to quit many times before. But always some excuse would enter my brain and I would start the cycle all over again. However, this time I am arming myself with all the information I can on nicotine and the harmful chemicals that go with that. I cannot believe what I was putting into my body! So, I hope that everyone does well and I will remember NOPE- not one puff ever. Thanks for listening,

Welcome aboard Valic, here is the best place to go to for support, encouragement and motivation because everyone understands this life changing POSITIVE JOURNEY. It is hard but we can all get there.keep postingxxxx

Well done on your decision Valic. I have found this a most supportive environment as all of us here are going through the same challenge. Nannette, above, is the most positive motivator and I am sure we can all be that for each other if we keep checking in. All the very best to you.

Thanks everyone! Day 2 and still going strong! Although I know from my past quits and reading everyone's stories that there are hurdles to get through. I am just going to remember why I quit, and know that I can do this!

Hi Valic, one of my biggest suggestions to you is to just stick with this site along with many other suggestions you will read on here. Read, Read, Read. I found that just logging in literally every day kept me on track. The moment I stopped checking in was my biggest mistake. I was going so well I thought I had it under control so figured I didn't need to check in so often. I was wrong & messed up after 3 whole months. Back on track through the support of this site. So....keep posting, you can do it!
