My first birthday without a ciggie

Today is the first birthday I have had without a ciggie in thirty five years. Although I have turned 52 today and therefore I am well over the need for a massive celebration, I was treated to a glass of champagne at work this afternoon and my alter-ego had already dashed out the back to have a ciggie in the street. Fortunately, I am not my alter ego and so I am typing this to calm my craving and stay on track. I am so looking forward to this time next year when I probably won't even think about it.

Happy Birthday Full of Hope I hope you had a lovely day.enjoy the rest of your evening, xxx

Hi Fullofhope I forgot to tell you I also turned 52 last week and I was excited to not smoke on my birthday. May we.now enjoy all future birthdays smoke free. How much fun is it being a Virgo and wasn't 1963 a great year.ill be able to mention all the old songs and finally someone out there will be familiar with them. Ha aha xxx

It is good to have a fellow Virgo travelling with me on this journey and I am quite sure I will relate to the songs you mention. I downloaded Pherell Williams yesterday!

Happy birthday Fullofhope. I so know how you must have felt at work at the point you were holding the champagne & wanting to go out the back. You've made it through so well. Now you know you don't need it. My birthday is coming up in October & I always celebrate with smoking and drinking. On that day I will be thinking of you both and will make sure I celebrate my birthday in a different way this time. I will be celebrating turning 43 and being able to breathe! This will be my gift to myself.

Happy belated Birthday fullofhope, your post inspires me, I wanted to be alive & smoke free for my 50th bday in 2 years after being diagnosed with emphysema on my 48th bday! You have done so well and given me inspiration to keep going on my journey, thank you
