Day 90 One Year 275 days away

schedule 28 Sep 2015

Who would have thought that I would get this far?? Wow. Its very exciting to be approaching my first major milestone of 100 days. So how do I feel? I feel happy, healthier, clean ( I don't stink anymore and nor do my clothes), more confident, FREE (Im back in control)and 2500 dollars ahead. I don't even think of smoking much now. My husband is on day 28 and has not whinged or complained because at the end of the day WE both know its time. Our daughters are very proud of us, especially our seven year old Claire. Claire made us beautiful star charts which are still going on the pantry. Anyone out there contemplating the decision to give up, all I can say is it is SOOOOOOO worth it. We just seem to have money NOW AND WE ARE MUCH MORE AWARE OF WHAT WE ARE DOING WITH IT. We are planning a trip to the barrier reef in January and at the end of the day yes it has been hard at times, but it is feeling so good to be living without that dreadful stinking dependency. Keep strong everyone.XX

Hi Nannette & Husband. I hope you are both blown away by the amount of $'s not left in the ash tray. That is enough to turn off the most determined smokers. You will be blown away by the amount of time it takes to save for that holiday. Not long at all. In fact, I think you will have change and no doubt you will be able to put that to good use. We stress about how we will pay our bills but if you have a pay increase of over approximately $700 per fortnight between you both you will be wondering where all that cash came from...

It is sooo good.

schedule 28 Sep 2015

Congratulations Nannette - what an extraordinary effort and, although you are always positive, we all know the road is challenging. Well done on 90 days - can that century be far away? No, it is next week and will be a reason for everyone around you to celebrate. You tell your daughter that she is an inspiration for more than her mum and dad. I hunted down some gold stars on the weekend and have started filling in my own daily diary (three for 'super hard', two for 'it wasn't fabulous' and one for 'got through the day without much stress'. Today was three! But your stories keep us all playing for Team Determined. Thanks for all your positive support.

Congratulations Nannette, it's so good to hear your positive comments it makes us more determined to stay quit! My 11 year old said she was very proud of me! Just waiting for my hubby to join me again, even though we quit together and he started again this time I didn't falter and stayed quit at 50 days now! I will get him to read your post and the money side of it will encourage him to try again!! Well done

schedule 29 Sep 2015

Hi Kazzy thanks for your lovely comments. My husband waited over 60 days before he joined me on this journey and his reason was that he wanted to make sure that I was truly going to quit and I understand that now. He was ready to quit but as you know its better if both parties are on the team rather than just one. I seriously just want to see my beautiful girls grow up share their special moments and be healthy.

Can you believe we are now looking at $4000 a week villa on Hamilton Island for our holiday the majority of which will be DART MONEY that we have saved. My Kids cant wait and nor can we. To think my husband and I would have handed that all over to the servo in the last three months. Disgusting really !!!! Stay strong Kazzy xx
