Day 74 One Year 291 Days Away "The Star Chart"

Saturday morning domestics including throwing out of the rubbish, I came across my first two star monthly star charts. I looked at them and thought how bloody hard I had to work to earn a star at the end of each day. they were proudly displayed on the front of the pantry.some of the days I even gave myself extra stars caus it was so hard .so in summary day1,3,5,10,15,18,19 and 26 all got two stars but the toughest days were Day 20, 21got five stars plus smiley stickers. The point is I cannot tell you how invaluable my trusty star charts have been in motivating me and keeping me smoke free. They have my mantra on them "believe in yourself you can do this" and they are very special because my 7 year old daughter Claire. Made them for me.i still have this months star chart going on and I religiously put my stickers on them before I go to bed.my husband has given up and is now on Day 12 ,once again ,Claire puts the stars on for daddy. So they do work sometimes when you get a bad craving you see al those stars and think" no I'm remaining strong caus I want to put a sticker on my star chart tonight", and besides Claire would be devo if I gave in as she is my number one supporter.
Claire even says to me if I'm having a bad day."mummy have you got your patch on and she tells me to believe in myself.
How blessed am I? Keep strong everyone and consider a star chart, silly as it sounds it has motivated me. Not sure that I'm quite ready to throw my first two out yet.xxxx

I like the star chart idea, I really should do one too. Way back in the beginning a new member named Jacob said if he could give me a star for being the most enthusiastic quitter he would, so I gave myself one from him and stuck it on my mirror then I added another 20 from myself because I was doing so well but I never added to them. I think I will start today. I think it's lovely that your daughter is such a strong little support system for you. Yes, we are so blessed to have them.
I think you should buy a gold star necklace or charm when you reach 100. It would be a nice reminder of how strong and awesome you really are.

Thankyou ladies for your lovely posts.Great suggestion Feather on the gold star charm I didn't think of that.might be a goer for that big century. Bronte perhaps you could get your kids to make you a lovely star chart .they would love it .keep strong. Xx

What a wonderful reminder of this journey to look back on the stars. I actually went our to buy some after reading one of your posts last week but could not find them easily. But now I am going to make an extra effort to find some. Your family sounds absolutely delightful so they sure will be glad you are going to hang around a lot longer. Well done.
