Day 71 One Year 294 days away

Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 9 Sep 2015

So many lessons to be learned on this journey, mine is the power of saving daily. I think because I have become soooo aware of the money I wasted on Darts Im now determined to SAVE. I bank 27.81 straight into my savings whilst the kettle boils in the morning.(will be up to 2000 tomoz)I charge everyone $2 a day board at home which adds up to $8 a day. I have the Weeks worth of $8 a day bagged up and my seven year old daughter religiously puts that in tin after school and marks off the spreadsheet where we are up to (so far 104) This is going to be holiday money. She then puts any leftover lunch money in her tin for our holiday.(her tin is nearly full) I now also bank $5 a day out of our housekeeping money everyday.(so far 105). Seems small but its money I WOULDNT have saved and the fact it is in tins I cant dip into it. I feel really good now. These small new habits I have adopted just illustrate and strengthen my resolve. Stay on team determined

You have done so well and you have generously encouraged those of us who are travelling a little bit after you on this trip. I love how you are saving your money for good things in the future. We are all trying to forego something we have enjoyed in the present for something we hope to achieve in the future - something we can't really see. That is a great ride and one which we should all join. Thank you.
